Colic

Babies are prone to numerous afflictions when they are very tender and colic is one of these. Pediatricians believe that the extreme crying makes moms and dads more aware of the obligation of raising a child. No drug exists to address the condition - moms and dads may use natural cures until the child adapts.

The most simple thing that the parents can be using is music and that is the reason why lullabies came into practice and for those who are unable sing, compact discs are available. Placing this in the crib wherever the infant is helps it to rest comfortably. Another natural cure is the diet program that the mother is having because certain foods produce abdominal wind and when this is converted to milk, it is like passing on the same thing to the child. If the mother stops breastfeeding and opts for milk concentrates, it better to go for soy milk instead of regular kind for the colic baby.

It is a common misconception that breast milk alone is all the baby needs during the first few months, but babies also need water as well, however, it is invariably best to consult with your doctor before introducing anything new to your babies diet. When a colic baby is crying, parents will usually carry the child and this works because the motion comforts most infants. Often the mother may find it tough to carry her baby. Getting out of the house is another way to accomplish this. The baby can be placed in a stroller or strapped to the car seat by the mom so that the mother and the baby can both enjoy their time in the park or go for a fun ride.

Young infants can show signs of tension. Giving them a warm bath, using relaxing scented oils or a gentle massage can help to sooth them. Another way is to place a warm towel or bag on the baby’s abdomen, but it is essential that you test it first to make sure it is not too warm. People can’t blame infants for being colic when it is caused by their new surroundings. Moms and Dads can try swaddling or holding the baby close to the chest, in order for the infant to be slowly adjust. There are different natural remedies that work but because it may not invariably work, moms and dads would want to attempt different things when signs do not get better.

Before giving the baby any colic treatment parents should find out from their physician which of the numerous interventions available would be befitting. Children classified as colic are thought to be normal. Intestinal colic is a good indication of a child’s health. Both parents should be ready for hard days ahead, because there will be numerous nights without sleep, no doubt making them feel exhausted.
